Clown Performances from around the worldNY Clown Theatre Festival - The Brick Theater has announced its schedule for the end of 2010, which will feature the annual NY Clown Theatre Festival, to run September 3-26 and Fight Fest 2, a celebration of stage combat to run December 2-19. Alive Theatre Presents Performance of FOUR CLOWNS at Hollywood Fringe Festival - Alive Theatre presents FOUR CLOWNS at the Hollywood Fringe Festival June 18-19 and June 24-26th. All shows, with the exception of 2pm Saturday shows, are at 8pm.
4 CLOWNS will play the Art/Works Theatre on 6567 Santa Monica Blvd in Hollywood. Tickets are $10. Conceived and directed by Jeremy Aluma, 4 CLOWNS is a physical, musical and emotional journey into what it means to be a human being. Follow four clowns who represent the four clown archetypes; the sad clown, the mischievous clown, the angry clown and the nervous clown as they get together to lament and reminisce about their past. As the old adage goes, ‘laughter is the best medicine' but, laughter comes most earnestly when reflecting on past sorrows. As the clowns tell their tales of woe and elation from childhood to adulthood we discover that really they are all the same, and so are we. Best In Class - A night of the best work to come out of recent physical theatre workshops. Come out and see the latest work in clown, bouffon, vaudeville and physical theatre.
In honour of Mark Purvis, Toronto Clown has created a bursary that will be donated to one of the performer's further studies in physical theatre.

6 Noble St Lunacy Cabaret - The Lunacy Cabaret is Toronto's longest running clown variety show. Pretty much anything can happen in this no holds-barred night of clown mayhem. This show's theme is duos, so look out for lots of one-on-one clown action, comedy couplings and physical theatre pairings!

6 Noble St Cirque du Poulet - Cirque du Poulet ran for several years at the Bad Dog theatre as a showcase of local clown and physical comedy acts. The show was often hosted by Neil Muscott or Helen Donnelly's clown Foo. The show filled a gap in the Toronto clown community after Space Night closed down. Cirque du Poulet ran for several years and after it was closed it spawned Owen Anderson's Clown Chowder.

6 Noble St Come frolic with the Finelli clowns - There’s some craziness going on in the Stage Werx basement theater on Sutter Street in San Francisco, and it’s called “Frau Bachfeifengesicht’s Spectacle of Perfection.”
TOP STOPS Clowning Around: Faction of Fools Brings Commedia Dell'Arte to D.C. - Faction of Fools seems to be attempting to singlehandedly bring Commedia dell'arte to Washington. Thank goodness someone thought to do it, or Express might have had to step in.
Their new show, "The House With Two Doors," should be a good introduction for those of you who don't know what Commedia dell'arte is, which is most of you CIRCO Comedia: Duo brings side-splitting comedy, daredevil stunts to Huntsville - Circo Comedia is part circus stunts, part magic tricks and part comedy.
And you have two chances to catch the two-man act from Montreal on Tuesday on the Von Braun Center Concert Hall stage in Huntsville. Jamie Adkins’ one-clown show is fit for all ages - All the world loves a clown, as the old song goes, and the next program of the Loveland Performing Arts Association should prove to be one that touches the hearts of young and old alike. |

"The small stuff" The purpose of the Clownville News website is to provide hyperlinks to news articles on clowns and other entertainers. We search the internet looking for News articles. Since we are a 'happy' newspaper, we ignore the stories of people dressing up as a clown and doing bad things. And we ignore stories where someone is called a clown. The web site is updated on at least a weekly basis with the 'new' edition ready every Monday morning. But if there is nothing good to add, there may be no updates for that week. We display hyperlinks to information from clown sites that run an News feed (Using RSS or ATOM). Such as the CRD (ClownResourceDirectory.com) and Clown Events (ClownEvents.com). If you run such a 'feed', send us an email with info on the feed and we will add you to the website.
